New York Yankees -1.5
After a great stretch, the Guardians have struggled recently. They are 3-8 in their last 11. McKenzie has gotten beaten up in his last two starts. The Yankees bats seem to be heating up again. Give me the Yanks -1.5!
The Parlay Kid
New York Mets -1.5
Going with my gut in this game even though Mets starter Carlos Carrasco has really struggled in his last few starts while the Texas Rangers starter Jon Gray has been solid. The Mets have the Braves breathing down their necks and can’t afford to lose this home series to the Rangers. Mets come out swinging and hammer the Rangers.
Birmingham Stallions -4.5
The Stallions are the best team in many ways in the USFL and will show it on Sunday in the championship game against the Stars. Birmingham beat them by 13 in their earlier meeting and on defense the Stallions have held opponents to 19 or under in 9 straight contests.
2-Team Moneyline Parlay: Seattle Mariners, Minnesota Twins
My good friend Megan Connolly and I are going to give you a Holiday weekend parlay. Megan says take Seattle because Oakland just got swept by New York and flat out, they just stink! My pick is the Twins because starter Sonny Gray hasn’t allowed more than 3 runs in any of his 10 starts this season.
Israel Adesanya to Win by Points
Adesanya should win this fight comfortably, but I do think he’ll be very cautious against Cannonier. It may not be exactly like the Romero fight, but I could see something similar. Adesanya has gone 5 rounds in 3 straight and 4 of his last 5. Cannonier has gone the distance in 2 of his last 3. Give me Adesanya by decision!
The Parlay Kid
Minnesota Twins -1.5
Twins starter Sonny Gray has been great so far this season, especially as of late. Over his last six starts, he has given up only six earned runs in 35 innings. Jordan Lyles starts for the Baltimore Orioles and he has given up 20 runs over his last 28 innings. Advantage Twins.
The Parlay Kid
Milwaukee Brewers -1.5
Corbin Burnes is on the mound for the Brewers and he is once again having an excellent year. In his one start versus the Pirates this year he went seven innings striking out 10 while giving up two runs. Expect a similar performance by the Brewers ace.
Tampa Bay Rays to Win
Rays starting pitcher Corey Kluber has given up more than 2 earned runs just once in 6 starts against AL East teams this season. Meanwhile, Toronto starter Jose Berrios has a 5.86 ERA and has given up 7 home runs in his last 3 starts combined.
Houston Astros/Los Angeles Angels Under 8.5
It’s weird to think that the Astros and Angels are two of the best under run total teams in baseball. The Astros are 48-24-3 on the under. Javier has pitched really well for the Astros, and 6 of his last 7 starts have had 8 runs or fewer. It’s also possible that Alvarez and/or Pena could miss another game for the Astros. Give me U8.5!
