2-Team Parlay: Notre Dame to Win, Ole Miss to Win
The Irish have won four straight openers by at least a touchdown (‘the ‘Noles have lost four straight openers ) and the Cardinals defense couldn’t stop anyone last season.
The Parlay Kid
Patrick Cantlay to win Tour Championship
Two-stroke lead for the hottest golfer on the planet? I will roll with the stoic Cantlay as he tops off a tremendous season with one more great day of golf. While you are at it, take him to have the lowest 72 round score as well at +100.
Notre Dame -6.5
What a terrible weekend for the ACC and I don’t see it getting any better tonight. Notre Dame has a lot of talent on both sides of the ball. Jack Coan will finally be free from that boring Wisconsin offense and should help Notre Dame put up a bunch of points on Florida State. Expect Kyren Williams to have another big game against them too. I will caveat that we all love, love, love Notre Dame, so that can’t possibly be good.
Oregon State +7.5
Oregon State may have been 2-5 last season, but they were in every game and even upset Oregon. They return 18 starters from last year and have upgraded at quarterback with Sam Noyer. They have a chance to sneak up on some teams and I love getting +7.5 here.
2-Team 7-Point Teaser: Notre Dame +.5, San Jose St. +21
The Irish are solid defensively and RB Kyren Williams had over 1100 yards rushing and had 13 TDS last season. The Irish have won four straight openers by 7 points or more meanwhile the ‘Noles have dropped four straight openers ( three at home). The Spartans won big last week thanks mostly to senior QB Nick Starkel who had 400 yards passing and accounted for 5 TDS.
The Parlay Kid
Derek Brunson to Win by Decision
Brunson has won four in a row and has looked outstanding in each one. Till has lost three out of his last four and seems to be trending in the wrong direction. To be honest, I really don’t love Brunson here, but the odds are too good to pass up. Brunson's punch volume will be far greater than the more methodical Till and will help Brunson squeak by in a close decision.
The Parlay Kid
Northwestern was 4-0 at home last season and after a year of shaking off the rust, Wildcats quarterback Hunter Johnson should be much better prepared. But Northwestern is not about throwing the ball, they are about the run game and defense. Michigan St. will have a tough time putting up points without an established QB and Northwestern will win by a comfortable margin.
Northwestern/Michigan State Under 45.5
I debated taking Northwestern here, but I need to see them play a few games first since they only return a few starters on offense and defense. One thing we know for sure is Pat Fitzgerald will rely on his run game and defense. Both teams won’t be good enough to put up a lot of points. Expect the clock to keep running in this one. U45.5!
Aryna Sabalenka to Win
Sabalenka is seeded #2 in the US Open and is ranked second in the world. She also has recorded a second-place finish in July at Wimbledon. Collins is the 29th ranked woman in the world and is seeded 26th in this tournament. Collins has a bright future but will see her run at the open end on Friday.
